COLONEL LOUIS A. TRAVERZO
Colonel Louis A. Traverzo is originally from the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwa Indian Reservation, Wisconsin. Commissioned in the Military Police Corps 1975, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and designated a distinguished military graduate from St. Norbert College, DePere, Wisconsin. He as later awarded a Master of Arts degree in Public Administration from Shippensburg University, Pennsylvania.
Colonel Traverzo's military education includes the Military Police Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff Course and the U.S. Army War College. He is also a graduate of the Ranger, Airborne, Air Assault and Jumpmaster courses.
Colonel Traverzo's assignments include Platoon Leader, 21st Military Police Company and 118th Military Police Company (Airborne), Assistant S3, 503rd Military Police Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Company Commander, 164th Military Police Company, Miesau, Germany; Assistant S3 Officer, 221st Military Police Brigade (USAR), San Jose, California; S3 Officer and Executive Officer, 728th Military Police Battalion, Taegu, Korea; Plans Officer, Provost Marshal Office, U.S. Army Central Command, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Chief, Operations and Plans and Chief, Force Protection, Provost Marshal Office, Forces Command, Atlanta, Georgia; Commander, Law Enforcement Command, and Provost Marshal, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky; and Commander, Third Brigade, Fourth Region (ROTC), Presidio of Monterey, California.
Colonel Traverzo's awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit; Bronze Star; Meritorious Service Medal (3OLC); Army Commendation Medal (2OLC); Army Achievement Medal; Humanitarian Service Medal; the Southwest Asia Service Medal w/3 bronze stars; the Saudi Arabian and Kuwaiti Awards for the Liberation of Kuwait; Ranger Tab; Parachutist Badge; and Air Assault Badge.
Colonel Traverzo is married to the former Sandra Molano and they have two sons, Derrick and Daniel.
