On May 19, 2001, Sergeant Mario Beldiman exhibited superior job performance skills by winning first place in the Department of Defense K-9 Competition. This competition put Sergeant Beldiman head to head against the best dogs the Armed Forces had to offer. In September of 2000, he returned from a U.S. Customs mission with a total of 1,300 pounds of narcotic seizures over a three-month period. Accolades such as these exemplify the level of professionalism and expertise demonstrated by a Sergeant who since January 2001 has been individually responsible for issuing over 75 traffic citations, apprehending 11 DUI offenders, and making over 20 narcotics arrests.
