2001 Top Cop Awards
Sergeant Mario Beldiman U.S. Army 25th MP Battalion Schofield Barracks
On May 19, 2001, Sergeant Mario Beldiman exhibited superior job
performance skills by winning first place in the Department of Defense
K-9 Competition. This competition put Sergeant Beldiman head to head
against the best dogs the Armed Forces had to offer. In September of
2000, he returned from a U.S. Customs mission with a total of 1,300
pounds of narcotic seizures over a three-month period. Accolades such
as these exemplify the level of professionalism and expertise
demonstrated by a Sergeant who since January 2001 has been individually
responsible for issuing over 75 traffic citations, apprehending 11 DUI
offenders, and making over 20 narcotics arrests. Sergeant Beldiman's
proactive and highly professional police work epitomizes the philosophy
of the Top Cop.
