The Hawaii Joint Police Association (HJPA is a nonpartisan group of more
than 175 members. It was formally established in 1967 as the Hawaii Joint
Military Police Association and has evolved into an organization
representing all phases of law enforcement and private security. The
"Mother" chapter of the HJPA is located in Honolulu. In 1999 the Big Island
(Hawaii) Chapter was formed.
Our vision is to insure that Hawaii continues to be a society where there is
greater freedom and security, increased respect for the rights of all, a
renewed sense of personal civic responsibility, healthier and more
interdependent neighborhoods, and increased pride in self and community.
We believe that crime prevention and the community police approach is
paramount for a public and private security program. The HJPA is linked
with helping to identify and solve security issues and cooperation is our
byword. As the Coalition for Law Enforcement and Security has set the
standards for all in the state of Hawaii we are proud that they allowed us
to share their motto "E Pupukahi" -- "We are one."
Please support the HJPA with your suggestions, donations, and participation.
